Another exclusive! Luxury London on Swide by Dolce & Gabbana

New for 2012

Hi,

I have spent the last 9 months writing style and beauty features for Dolce and Gabbana's Swide online luxury magazine..I am now happy to announce that I have been given my very own column  -  Luxury London - An uber cool column focussing on events, hotels, spas and people. London lifestyle in a nutshell. As a born and bred Londoner I couldn't be happier to represent my city.

This is an exciting progressive development in my career. I hope you all can share it with me. Please read, like, feedback, suggest relevant ideas for the column. I'd be eternally grateful. My aim is to be writing this not only in 2012 but for a very long time.

Without further ado here is the launch edition of Luxury London by Karma-Style...

The DKNY Resort 2012 Collection - A fashion synopsis

When I viewed this women's collection, my thoughts were how unfussy and flattering the looks were – wearable chic at its best. Many timeless classics that work for so many of us.

Here are my favourites...

Pure monochrome chic.  A look that demonstrates how easy style can be.

A masculine tuxedo with a twist that is oh so feminine. Love the cut-out cape jacket with the sheer golden flecked blouse - a great combination. I’d personally rock this look with my hair in a pony and huge gold hoops.

This is another fab combination! This look is great for a girl who loves fashion without being a victim to it. LOVE the red fake fur!

This look puts the smart into casual. How stylish yet simple is this? The fact that it’s black illustrates the shape and style perfectly.

Stunning! This encompasses the whole vibe of DKNY’s resort collection.  It’s forgiving and flattering at the same time so would suit many women. The colours work wonderfully and I want that jacket – like now!

I love this outfit it’s modest yet sexy – a dressed up/dressed down mix. The colours are beautiful. This outfit is perfect for our ever-changing UK weather.

This is a perfect look for a night out with the girls, or a hot date! The silk motif shirt and layered mini complement each other, and has the feel of someone who hasn’t tried too hard.

Stylish glamour. A look that falls loosely yet still maintains shape. The gorgeous blouse is perfect for disguising a little belly, and the tapering pants are a great look that will suit many.

A red sequined dress that’s subtle. Yes! And here it is! This dress is evocative of the whole collection - Glamourous, timeless chic with no silly gimmicky trends.

The DKNY Resort 2012 Collection is a wonderfully effortless chic collection.

The looks you’ve seen I would definitely have as staples in my and my client’s wardrobes.

Which looks do you like from my selection or from the whole range? Let me know.

Thanx CamilleA

Happy Easter from DKNY with love (and eggs)…

On Thursday, I was kindly invited by DKNY to their first London vs. New York Easter egg hunt and my first ever Easter egg hunt…

The rules: 15 clues were sent via twitter. Once the members of the New York or London team had found an easter bunny, we were to tweet a picture of the bunny and product found with it to DKNY PR girl.  It kicked off from 3pm. The whistle blew and the chosen few (7 of us) ran around like crazy people amongst the very civilised DKNY Bond street customers - It was such fun. We searched across 2 floors. I gave the single file escalators a miss when I saw Bunnipunch, Prince Cassius and Clotheshorse90 having a near punch up on it :). Watching them trying to get ahead of each other in the narrow space was a crack up and they were cracking up too...So, I hoisted up my maxi dress and took the stairs – everytime!

We searched in good spirits, however competitive, we laughed the whole way through with the ultimate goal of beating the New York team of fashionistas.

The team - err strategising!?!
More strategising..
To cut a long story short, After a bit of glitch from the London team (don’t ask) Blogger/PR girl Bunnipunch and Stylist Emily Jerman eventually tied and won the London prize for finding the most bunnies and the London team tied with New York(ummmmm!) on the collective finds. I was sure London won, anyway...The beauty of this DKNY hunt was that we all won prizes; a huge bag full of Thorntons Eggs, fabulous DKNY sunglasses and a watch!!

Winners all round for sure...

Lastly, a huge thank you to DKNY, Liza and Ginny of Purple PR and Store Director Guiseppe for the invite and for using social media in such a clever, innovative and fun way. I’m sure this was a first, and a memorable Easter for me...
